Thanks to our international forums, wetlookers connect from all over the world. On such forums I’ve met Oleg and Tanya from WamInStyle. We kept an eye on each other’s work and became friends as a result.
Who knew that life would take such an unpredictable turn and land me 11 time zones away from home? With my line of work I can end up just about anywhere, so this summer, along with a few other places, I got a chance to spend some time in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Despite my busy schedule I got to meet Artem, the legendary “wetlook maniac”, and Marta, one of the models. We decided to use this opportunity and do a memorable photoshoot in a studio with a water reservoir (originally designed to film scenes in the rain). I was filled with excitement to pose with another wetlook model from literally the other end of the world.

But what should we wear? That was the most important question. We took a while to coordinate our outfits. Marta came wearing all cotton and I decided to wear all wool – my angora sweater and a wool skirt that earlier belonged to Tanya. Let’s see who will soak better!

Since both of us like pantyhose and we are about the same size, we decided to swap the ones that we were wearing. Marta put on my Wolford pantyhose and I was wearing her sheer black pantyhose with reinforced toe. Even our shoes matched somewhat!

We didn’t want to rush, so first we wet our feet and splash each other a little bit. Then we got quite into it, splashing each other’s pantyhose with water. Black sheer pantyhose got a little bit shinier, but thicker grey ones actually got much darker, thus looking very funny with little wet spots from splashes, like a grey leopard.

Marta really wanted to take off the shoes, so we kicked off our heels and started jumping up and down. But, that didn’t last long because we were creating way too many splashes, so we decided to roll around in water instead.

The water was a little cold and we didn’t rush. At some point I suggested that we take turns pouring water on each other. Then we lied down with our feet up and just enjoyed the feeling of our clothes getting wet.

Marta’s shirt got wet fast, but my angora sweater took a while to absorb water. It was interesting to observe how we played with water in the same way, but Marta was always much wetter than me. Could it be that next time we’ll do this again in different fabrics? It is interesting to see how different fabrics soak.

It was a very memorable experience for me and I enjoyed spending time with Marta and Artem. I regret so much that I didn’t have a chance to visit Oleg and Tanya in Moscow due to the brevity of my trip. Well, this is not my last time in Europe, so I hope that we’ll overlap somewhere soon and celebrate our friendship in some fountain or a bathtub together.
